Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery

Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery

Visitors to Birmingham Museums Trust are being dazzled by a collection of contemporary art works which have been artistically displayed in a number of bespoke conservation grade museum showcases supplied by Conservation By Design (CXD).

CXD supplied the museum with 10 air-tight showcases worth £40,000 to provide a versatile and comprehensive system for displaying Birmingham Museums Trusts outstanding collections of contemporary decorative art. The secure showcases will ensure that all items on display are protected from theft and deterioration during the course of the exhibitions. They are currently housing a collection of metalwork crafted by students from Birmingham's School of Jewellery.

Fiona Slattery-Clarke, Curator at Birmingham Museums Trust, said: "We chose to work with CXD because they offered the Gallery the best value both technically and commercially, and we have been very pleased with the end result".

"We've had a very positive response from the public to the new showcases and displays. The collections look fantastic. We really hope visitors will enjoy the exhibitions."

Chris French, of Conservation By Design, added: "Our museum showcases are renowned for offering elegance and durability and offer the perfect solution for displaying such a stylish collection of items.  Being clear and secure these display cases will provide optimum protection for the art works while enabling visitors to enjoy the exhibits close up in all their glory!"

Conservation By Design offer a wide range of bespoke conservation grade museum showcases, including; freestanding cases, table cases and display drawers.
