A WINNING COMBINATION
Designed to adsorb corrosive gasses within enclosed spaces such as conservation boxes, picture frames or showcases.
The new self adhesive Puritan Pads™ from CXD combine microporous active carbon cloth and reactive copper particles which attract and neutralise a range of harmful gasses/vapours and solvents that can tarnish or corrode a wide variety of sensitive materials including metals or photographs.
The combination of the carbon and copper gives protection against both organic and inorganic gasses. The active carbon protects against organic gasses while the copper particles guard against inorganic pollution.

The carbon cloth Puritan Pads™ generate strong electrostatic charges within their pore structure which attract gases and entrap them within the non-releasing pores, preventing release in the unlikely event that the pads reach saturation point.
The pads are a sandwich of breathable Black Polypropylene non-woven fabric, 100% woven Activated Carbon Cloth impregnated with Copper Particles and a backing of White non-woven Polypropylene.
A non plasticised, neutral pH, Acrylic adhesive is applied to the white side and backed with Silicone Release paper.
The Pads are “Kiss-Cut” into 25mm squares which can be applied individually or in multiples to the inside of a box, picture frame or showcase.
The adsorptive capacity of the Puritan Pads™ is enormous thanks to the highly developed pore structure of the activated carbon which offers a huge available surface area for adsorption. Each 25mm Puritan Pad ™ has a surface area equivalent to 90 metres squared.
Puritan Pads™ are an exclusive product developed by Conservation By Design Limited - A Timecare® Company
